Clatsop Community College Maritime Program Poised to Become Domestic Maritime Center of Excellence

ASTORIA, OR – Clatsop Community College is a step closer to having the unique opportunity to be federally-designated as a Domestic Maritime Center of Excellence. President Donald J. Trump signed into law the FY 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).  The NDAA includes language from the Domestic Maritime Centers of Excellence Act, authorizing community and technical college maritime workforce “centers of excellence.”  The Domestic Maritime Centers of Excellence Act was co-sponsored by Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) and Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR).

Ales & Ideas presents "Marine Studies: Creating New Opportunities for Students and Coastal Communities" with OSU’s Jack Barth PhD

Clatsop Community College and the Fort George Brewery are pleased to announce the December event for the 2017-18 first Thursday Ales & Ideas lectures.  On Thursday, December 7th, CCC is pleased to welcome Jack Barth, Executive Director of the Oregon State University’s Marine Studies Initiative.  Doors open with food and beverage service at 6pm. Seasonal beers on tap, food and other beverages are available for purchase, but no purchase is required. Minors are welcome. The Fort George Lovell Showroom is located at 14th and Duane St. in Astoria.
