Graduation / Commencement
To walk in Commencement and have your name added to the Commencement Program, please fill out a Petition for Graduation by April 14, 2023. Return this form to Student Services: First Stop in Columbia Hall, Room 109.
Graduation is the official awarding of two-year degrees and one-year certificates. This means that you have completed all the necessary credit requirements.
Commencement is the ceremony celebrating the completion of these educational programs.
“Walking” during commencement does not always mean a student has officially graduated. However, students can participate in the ceremony preceding their official completion of credit requirements.
Commencement
The 2023 Commencement Ceremony will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 16th in Patriot Hall.
Date: Friday, June 16th, 2023
Time: 3:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. – Check-In for Students.
4:00 p.m. – Ceremony starts
Place: Towler Hall, First Floor (staging area before the graduates)
Park: Park in the lower lot by the library, in the lot behind Columbia Hall or on Jerome Ave. All spaces in front of Columbia Hall on Lexington Avenue and seven spaces directly behind Columbia Hall are reserved for disability parking.
Additional Information:- Leave all valuables at home or locked in your vehicle. There will be NO security provided for valuables left in the staging area. The College is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- You will only receive your diploma cover during the ceremony.
- Diplomas will be mailed out in August to the address on file. If you have not received your diploma by September 22rd, 2023 please email Registrar@clatsopcc.edu
To order your cap and gown, please fill out the form and email it to cccbookstore@clatsopcc.edu. You can pay by phone (503) 338-2447 or at the Bookstore from 9-3pm.
Cap and gown orders are due by Wednesday, May 10. Please fill out this form and return it to the Bookstore by the deadline.
If you ordered a cap and gown, you may pick up your order at the College Bookstore located in Columbia Hall. The bookstore will announce when regalia is available for pickup. The bookstore is open weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Patriot Hall doors open at 3:00 pm.
- There is limited parking please encourage ride sharing.
- Designated disabilities parking is on Lexington alongside Columbia Hall or in the back parking lot behind Columbia Hall.
- Seating will be on bleachers, feel free to bring a cushion.
- No large backpacks/book bags allowed in the gym. Diaper bags are OK.
- The Patriot Hall gymnasium prohibits confetti, balloons, silly string, glitter, and firearms. DO NOT bring any of these items.
- Food and drink are banned in the gymnasium, you can bring bottled water.
All accommodation requests for graduation should be directed to Faith Forster, CCC Student Access Services Coordinator. Students, family members and community members are to contact Faith to request coordination of accommodation needs such as: parking close to the venue, accessible seating, use of assistive listening devices (sound amplification), captioning, American Sign Language interpretation, or other modifications that may be needed to ensure equitable access to the event.
