  • GED® tests
  • Accuplacer placement testing
  • ALEKS PPL Math Placement testing
  • Proctored exams for current students with disability-related accommodations
  • Proctored exams for students from other institutions

Expand the headings below to find detailed information for each type of testing.

The college offers a GED® program that may include free classes and tests. Use this link to learn more: GED® / ABE | Clatsop Community College.

All GED® tests are computer-based. The four subject areas of testing are:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts (combining reading and writing):  155 minutes
  • Social Studies*:  75 minutes
  • Science*:  95 minutes
  • Mathematical Reasoning*:  120 minutes

*Students are allowed to use a personal handheld TI-30XS model calculator for these tests, which the Testing Center will provide. This calculator is also embedded in the computer test modules for use digitally.

Registration Procedure for GED® Tests

To register for a GED® test, go to the website: www.ged.com

  • Sign up and log onto MyGED®
  • Select “Schedule Test”
  • Pay the fee per test module with a debit/credit card.

Scheduling GED® Tests

The GED® website will show a range of times on the dates that testing is available.  Testing is generally offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30pm to 5:00pm. You may schedule multiple tests back-to-back, on the same date if desired. However, please note the following requirements:

  • Schedule your test to begin at the first posted test time (example, 12:30p.m. if the posted times are from 12:30p.m.-5p.m.) If you sign up for a second test on the same date, it will automatically begin immediately following your first test.
  • If you try to schedule multiple tests, it may show no testing is available because the test time would be more than the 4.5 hours the Testing Center is open.
  • Contact the testing center directly to request different or expanded hours: testingcenter@clatsopcc.edu
  • Check-in at the Testing Center one-half hour before the test (example, 1:30p.m. for a 2p.m. test).
  • A valid (not expired) government-issued ID is required to be shown each time you take a test. This ID must have: your picture, name, address, date of birth and signature. NO ID= NO TESTING!

Test Scores

You will receive an email letting you know when you can review your Score Report, usually within one hour after completing your test.

GED® Transcripts and Credentials

All Oregon transcripts and certificates will be issued by GED® Credentialing, delivered to your email as soon as you have passed all four GED® tests, at no cost for the first copy.

Credentials for GED® tests taken before 2014 will be available for $15 per request at:

http://www.gedtestingservice.com/testers/gedrequest-a-transcript

Accommodations and rescheduling exams must be coordinated through GED®. Phone numbers, and email contact can be found on their site:  Contact  GED.

ALEKS PPL Math Placement

If you do not have a recent high school or college transcript (within 7 years) or a recent GED score report, you are encouraged to take the ALEKS PPL placement exam. This exam costs $15 and can be taken via aleks.com

When you get to the ALEKS website, you will click on the “Sign Up” button in the top right-hand corner, and then put in Class Code: TU4DH-JWWWW

If you are asked for a proctoring password it is: CLATSOP1958

This exam is 30 questions and takes 60-90 minutes to complete. After the assessment, an individualized preparation and learning module is available for students to refresh their knowledge on forgotten topics. Students could reassess and improve their placement.
