Rain Magazine Postponed

A Message from the Rain Magazine Advisor:

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Rain Magazine, Clatsop Community College’s journal of arts and literature, will be postponing the publication of its 51st annual issue until September 2020 with a reception and reading date to be announced.

With the campus fully online for Spring term and under a restriction on public gatherings, we feel this is the most responsible option available for now, but look forward to sharing some great work with the public as soon as possible.

Support for the arts always feels the pinch early when finances sputter or retract. Rain has long depended on the generosity of our local business community to print a handsome journal with as much full color as we can afford.

Right now, our local businesses are hurting bad, with shuttered doors and massive layoffs, and it is not the time to ask for the regular contributions we usually receive.

Rain would not have survived for more than 50 years without the continued support of our local community. Thank you!

To those who have submitted art and writing to this year’s issue, expect correspondence on the status of your submission shortly now that we have made this decision to postpone publication.

If you would like to contribute a private donation to Rain Magazine you can do so:

Checks should be made payable to Clatsop Community College- Rain Magazine and sent to
