Community Members

Welcome!

Community members and visitors are welcome to enjoy the CCC Library! Public computers and wireless access are available, as well as current newspapers, magazines, and a growing collection of movies, music, and popular fiction. Enjoy a cup of fresh, locally-roasted Thundermuck coffee, catch up on the local news, or just relax and enjoy the view!

Library Hours

Library hours vary slightly during each academic term.  For current hours call the Circulation desk at 503-338-2462 or view our Location and Hours page.

Public Use Computers

The Library provides three computers for public access.  You must check in at the Circulation desk before use.  No ID is required.  These computers are provided to the public with the expectation that users have a basic understanding of both computer software and the internet.  The public access computers are stationed in the Library Lounge, a community space where conversation and interaction are encouraged.  Please read a more thorough description of our Public Computer Guidelines (.doc 40KB).

Wireless

The entire CCC campus, including the library, is now equipped to provide free wireless access to both students and guests. If you have problems accessing wireless service please ask the library staff for assistance.

Patron Membership (Non-Student)

Anyone may use library materials on-site at no charge.  However, if you are not currently a student and wish to check out books, CDs, DVDs or other materials from the CCC Library, you will need to become a Patron Member.  There are two ways to do this:

  • Full Patron Membership: Our full-service patron membership costs $5 for three months, $10 for six months, or $20 per year.  Paid patron membership includes access to materials from the CCC library and our 6 partner libraries, worldwide Interlibrary Loan services, and access to Passport membership for many other Oregon libraries (see below!).  Photo ID is required to set up a library account, some restrictions apply.  For more information, inquire at the Circulation desk or Contact Us.
  • Limited Passport Membership: Take advantage of the Oregon Library Passport Program! This exciting new program allows members of any participating passport library to check out materials from other participating libraries at no charge, anywhere in the state of Oregon.  Just present your current library card from your “home” library at any other participating library and an account will be created for you, and you may check out materials on the spot. For example, both CCC Library and Astoria Public Library are participating libraries. Patrons of each library (their ‘home’ library) may become passport members at the other library for free! (Some restrictions apply.)  View program details and a list of participating libraries on the Libraries of Oregon website, and feel free to ask us questions about the specifics of this program.

NOTE:  Library Patron or Passport memberships do not include Patriot Hall gym privileges, and vice-versa.

Library Lounge

The Library Lounge is a community space where conversation and interaction are encouraged. We invite you to make yourself at home here… share time, share space, share ideas… share the LIBRARY!
