Clatsop Community College is offering students impacted by the closure of the Tongue Point Job Corps a free term of classes to assist with their career goals moving forward. Thanks to a generous donation from Hampton Lumber to the CCC Foundation, the College is able to offer a term of free tuition, fees, and books to eligible students.
Students can choose from a wide range of classes starting fall term including Accounting, Automotive, Business, CADD, Criminal Justice, EMT, Fire Science, Historic Preservation & Restoration, Maritime Science, Medical Assistant, CNA, and Welding. Additionally, general education classes are available for students pursuing transfer degrees. A limited selection of summer term classes is also available beginning in July for those looking to begin sooner.
“This initiative reflects CCC’s commitment to supporting our community during challenging times,” said CCC President Jarrod Hogue. ” We extend our sincere thanks to Hampton Lumber for their commitment to education and workforce development in our region.”
The Magic Opportunity Fund, supported by Hampton Lumber’s donation of $25,000 at the 2025 CCC Foundation fundraiser, will fund this initiative.
“We’re happy to be able to support Clatsop Community College in providing students affected by the Tongue Point Job Corps closure with a fresh opportunity to pursue their goals. Investing in these students is an investment in the future of our region’s workforce and vitality,” stated Lindsay Davis, Community Outreach & Stewardship Coordinator for Hampton Lumber.
Prospective students interested in taking advantage of this opportunity are encouraged to contact CCC’s admission team to schedule an appointment at admission@clatsopcc.edu or 503-338-2417.
