Winners Announced for the 2025 Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century International Juried Exhibition

Clatsop Community College’s Royal Nebeker Art Gallery proudly announced the award winners for the fifteenth annual juried exhibition, Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century, during the community reception held onThursday, February 20, 2025.

This year’s juror, Laura Ross Paul, a renowned artist and educator based in Portland, Oregon, selected 46 works from over 350 submissions, showcasing the work of 41 artistsfrom13 states and Canada.

In her juror’s statement, Ross Paul expressed her admiration for the diverse interpretations of the nude, noting that some artists worked from direct observation, while others created narrative-driven pieces through inventive environments. She highlighted the broad range of mediums and techniques, as well as the trust and connection between artists and their models.

Awards are supported by submission fees paid by all artists who enter the competition:

Voting for the People’s Choice Award remains open until the exhibition closes. The winner will be announced on the Royal Nebeker Gallery page and the Au Naturel website.

Exhibition Details

The 2025 Au Naturel exhibition is on view through March 13, 2025, at the CCC Royal Nebeker Art Gallery, located at 1799 Lexington Avenue, Astoria, OR. Admission is free, and the gallery is open during the following hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 8 AM – 5 PM
  • Saturday: 11 AM – 4 PM
  • Sundays & Holidays: By appointment only

Visitors are encouraged to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award before the exhibition concludes.

This year’s exhibition and awards are supported by artist submission fees and the generous sponsorship of Sleeper Coffee, Fort George Brewery & Public House, and The Inferno.

Founded in 2007, Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century is an internationally recognized juried exhibition celebrating the timeless tradition of the nude in contemporary art. Held at Clatsop Community College’s Royal Nebeker Art Gallery, the exhibit brings together artists from across the country and beyond, exploring the human figure through diverse artistic perspectives.
