College Commencement Celebrates Graduates June 16th

Clatsop Community College is proud to announce the commencement festivities for the graduating class of 2023. This year’s commencement ceremony will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 4 p.m. in Patriot Hall at the CCC campus in Astoria. Chris Gustafson, a CCC Historic Preservation and Restoration program graduate who now owns his own company, Vintage Window Restoration, and teaches part-time for the college program, is the guest speaker for the event.

89 graduates of CCC with 82 associate degrees and 11 certificates will be recognized this year. Acknowledgement will also be given to individuals who have completed the college’s GED program. English Instructor Julie Brown was selected as this year’s Faculty Marshall and the honor of being named Student Marshall went to graduating business student Jennifer Ginn-Bennett of Clatskanie. Both Faculty and Student Marshalls will address those gathered for the commencement ceremony.

“Commencement is the result of all the hard work and dedication our students have put to their studies,” said CCC President Chris Breitmeyer. “It’s a time to really applaud their accomplishments as then now set out to enter the career of their choosing or continue in furthering their education at the next level. We are excited to celebrate this milestone with our graduates.”

The commencement ceremony will be a live, in-person event. Masks remain optional on the college campus. A live streaming option will be available via the Clatsop Community College YouTube channel.
