CCC’s Annual Art Student Show Opens May 15 with Reception

Clatsop Community College Art Department is pleased to announce the grand finale of the year, the 2025 Annual Art Student Show, on view in the Royal Nebeker Gallery from May 15 to June 6, 2025. The opening reception will be held on May 15 at 6 pm. Join us in celebrating our art students’ accomplishments at this event, which features a presentation of cash prizes and awards, along with a special talk by this year’s guest juror, Lâm Quảng.

The CCC Art Student Show will feature a juried selection of work created by art students who have taken art courses throughout the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic year, in courses such as graphic design, basic design, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, and printmaking. The art faculty includes Ben Rosenberg (Printmaking), David Homer (Photography and Graphic Design), Brad Menninga (Ceramics), and Kristin Shauck (Drawing, Painting, and Basic Design).

This year’s guest juror is Lâm Quảng. Originally from Vietnam, he began making paper in the late 1990s, eventually developing a practice centered around sculptural lamp forms inspired by childhood memories of moon festivals. In 1998, he opened HiiH Gallery in Portland’s Alberta Arts District. His work is currently exhibited at Imogen Gallery in Astoria, and HiiH Lights, his creative studio, is located on a two-acre homestead between Astoria and Seaside, Oregon.

The 2025 Art Student Show is a dynamic and engaging showcase of emerging talent, with work thoughtfully chosen by this year’s juror, and highlights the diverse creative voices of our student artists. We look forward to welcoming the community to the Royal Nebeker Gallery to share in this celebration of artistic expression and student achievement.

The CCC Royal Nebeker Gallery is dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the campus, the local community, and the North Coast region. Please join CCC in its mission to sustain and promote contemporary art and visual culture through professional exhibitions and programming.

The CCC Royal Nebeker Gallery is located at 1799 Lexington Avenue in Astoria. The gallery hours are from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and on weekends and holidays by appointment only.
