The English Department of Clatsop Community College is proud to host the first ever RiverSea Conference, a student-led research showcase. The Conference will be held on Friday May, 16th in Towler Hall from 9am to 3pm. All are welcome to attend this free event.
The RiverSea Conference is a place for undergraduate students to demonstrate any research they have done during their time at CCC. It is open to all disciplines, and students will present their information in a variety of ways. Posters, presentations, panel conversations, and demonstrations are just a few ways you might view a student’s hard work at college being brought to life at this event.
Aurora Alires-Menconi, a second-year English major at CCC is one of the many students who will be displaying their work at the Conference. She will be presenting her research on the Pacific Yew plant for her Botany class. When asked what she hopes to gain from sharing her research, she said “I really think this will be a great experience. I want to spread the knowledge I’ve learned about this plant and how scientists are beginning to look into its uses for treating cancer. It should be a really exciting event.”
