Call for Entries: Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century 2026

Clatsop Community College is pleased to announce the sixteenth annual international juried exhibition, Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century. This prestigious exhibition will be on view in the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery from January 22 through March 12, 2026, with a reception to be held on Thursday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m.

Open to artists worldwide, Au Naturel seeks works in drawing, painting, and printmaking that explore the nude human figure, from representational to abstract, with an emphasis on the handmade mark. This year, a limited number of three-dimensional works will also be considered (see size/weight restrictions in application).

Exhibition Awards

  • $1000 in cash prizes
  • Up to $2000 in purchase awards
  • Future Exhibition Opportunities: One or more artists may be selected for a group or solo exhibition at the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery.
  • Visiting Artist Workshop Awards: A select number may also be granted.

Juror

We are honored to welcome Martha Lee, owner and director of the Russo Lee Gallery in Portland, Oregon, as juror for Au Naturel 2026. With over 35 years of experience in the fine arts community, Lee is a leader in the Contemporary Northwest Art scene and a dedicated advocate for artists. She has served on numerous juries and panels, including the Sitka Art Invitational, the PNCA BFA Juried Exhibition, and the Arlene Schnitzer Visual Art Prize, and is a past President of the Portland Art Dealers Association.

Application & Fees

Entries must be submitted through CaFÉ at the following link: Au Naturel: the Nude in the 21st Century 2026

  • Entry Fee: $45 (non-refundable) for 1–3 images
  • Additional Images: $5 each, up to a maximum of 15 images total

Eligibility

  • Artists must be 18 years or older.
  • Artwork must depict the nude human figure.
  • Eligible media: drawing, painting, printmaking, and select 3D works.
  • All works must employ the handmade mark as the primary means of image-making.

This exhibit invites viewers to witness the enduring power of the nude, celebrating the human spirit through art that is at once timeless and contemporary. Artists are encouraged to apply and become part of this dynamic dialogue, adding their voices to a tradition that continues to resonate across time.
