Award Winners Announced for the 2025 Annual Juried Art Student Show

The Clatsop Community College Art Department is pleased to announce the award winners of the 2025 Annual Juried Art Student Show. Currently on view in the Royal Nebeker Gallery through June 6, the exhibition opened with a well-attended reception on May 15 celebrating the creativity and accomplishments of our student artists. The event featured the presentation of cash prizes and awards, as well as a special gallery talk by this year’s guest juror, Lam Quang.

This exhibit showcases a juried selection of artworks created by art students over the past two years in a wide range of courses offered through the art program, including graphic design, basic design, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, and printmaking. The art faculty includes Ben Rosenberg (Printmaking), David Homer (Photography and Graphic Design), Brad Menninga (Ceramics), and Kristin Shauck (Drawing, Painting, Watercolor, and Basic Design).

This year’s juror, Lam Quang, is a highly respected artist whose work explores form, space, and light through a unique cross-cultural lens. His thoughtful selections and insightful remarks at the opening reflected a deep appreciation for student creativity and vision.   Quang’s own creative work is currently exhibited at Imogen Gallery in Astoria, and HiiH Lights, his creative studio, is located on a two-acre homestead between Astoria and Seaside, Oregon.

The 2025 Art Student Show offers an immersive and visually engaging showcase of emerging talent. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Royal Nebeker Gallery to experience this dynamic and diverse collection of student work.
