Clatsop Community College invites the community to step into a world of creativity, connection, and celebration at this year’s Trantlerfest, a one-of-a-kind gathering centered around the iconic Trantler sculpture in the courtyard of the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery.
The free event will take place Wednesday, May 6th, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery on CCC’s Lexington campus.
Created as a way to bring students and the broader community together, Trantlerfest has quickly become a beloved CCC tradition blending art, music, performance, and hands-on creativity into a vibrant, welcoming experience for all ages.
This year’s Trantlerfest promises an energetic and eclectic lineup. Attendees can enjoy a mix of music from DJ SLu and local band Potato in the Wind, along with performances by Triple Moon Dance and a special appearance by John Goff on bagpipes. Guests can also enjoy delicious food offerings from Bandit Cafe and Athena Mediterranean Kitchen.
In addition to the live entertainment, the event will feature a pop-up Trantlerfest Art Show and the return of the popular community art wall, where participants of all ages are invited to contribute to a large collaborative piece turning individual creativity into a shared expression of community.
A highlight of the evening will be the always imaginative Trantlerfest Costume Contest, encouraging attendees to embrace their most “trant-tastic” alter egos. Prizes include a unique all-you-can-eat-in-1-hour ice cream experience for six people from Frite & Scoop and a gift certificate to Fede’, among others.

“A lot of people ask, ‘what is Trantlerfest,’ and I like to reply with ‘what ISN’T Trantlerfest,’ because it includes so many things,” said Julie Kovatch, CCC Communications and Marketing Director. “I would summarize the fest by saying that it is a celebration of all things art and creative. We centered our community gathering around the beautiful art sculpture, the Trantler, that is part tree and part antler because we wanted something that held a unifying focus for an annual tradition. The Trantler represents coming together and that is exactly what we are doing with Trantlerfest.”

The Trantler sculpture, created by artist Keri Rosebraugh, serves as the symbolic heart of the event representing growth, imagination, and unity.

Trantlerfest is free and open to the public. Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend, participate, and celebrate the creative spirit that defines Clatsop Community College and the North Coast.
