Clatsop Community College Maritime Science Partners with MM-SEAS to Streamline Coast Guard Licensing for Students

Clatsop Community College Maritime Science is announcing a new partnership with MM-SEAS, a software platform that helps mariners navigate the process of obtaining, renewing, and upgrading their U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) credentials.

For many students, the hardest part comes after class—navigating the complex Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) application process. Missing signatures, expired certificates, and confusing requirements can delay a career by months. Through this partnership, CCC students now have a proven, stress-free path to licensing approval.

“Clatsop Community College Maritime Science gets students ready with the knowledge and training to succeed. MM-SEAS ensures their licensing paperwork is done right the first time,” said Mike Lee, CCC Maritime Science Instructor. “This partnership prevents students from losing momentum to Coast Guard paperwork processes, so they can focus on launching their maritime careers.”

With MM-SEAS, CCC Maritime Science students can build their Coast Guard applications while they train. The service ensures every detail is correct before submission, saving students from costly delays.

  • Exclusive Maritime Student Bonuses:
    • Degree-seeking Maritime Science students receive a 3-year complimentary MM-SEAS PRO membership (a $297 value), unlocking unlimited one-on-one support from licensing specialists.
    • Students seeking license or credential upgrades at CCC receive a 1-year complimentary MM-SEAS PRO membership (a $99 value) also offering unlimited one-on-one support from licensing specialists.
  • Fast Approvals: Students using MM-SEAS average Coast Guard approvals in just 22.8 business days compared to months of waiting on their own.
  • Stress-Free Guarantee: Every application is checked and submitted by experts who know exactly what the Coast Guard requires.
  • All-Inclusive Pricing: MM-SEAS reviews and submits each student’s MMC application for $349 (including Pay.gov fees). Payment is only required when the application is ready to submit.

“MM-SEAS is committed to empowering mariners to achieve their professional goals,” said Nate Gilman, President of MM-SEAS. “Partnering with Clatsop Community College to provide their students with access to MM-SEAS PRO is a significant step in that direction, giving them the resources they need to navigate the licensing process.”
