Transfer Credits & Evaluation
Official transcripts are required to receive a transcript evaluation determining where transfer credits may apply to a student’s degree at CCC. Unofficial transcripts are not accepted. Official transcripts can be ordered following the steps listed on the website of a previously attended institution. Parchment and National Student Clearinghouse will automatically populate Clatsop’s information for transcript orders; all other credential servicers can use admissions@clatsopcc.edu as the destination.
Lower-division undergraduate 100- and 200-level college coursework from regionally accredited institutions may be transferred to CCC for transfer credit; students must have earned a grade of C- or higher for the coursework to be accepted. “Pass”/P or “Satisfactory”/S grades are transferrable if the transferring institution awarded that grade for the equivalent mark of C- or higher. Transfer GPAs are not included in the calculation of GPAs at Clatsop. Transfer credit evaluations are performed by the Registrar’s Office in the order in which they are received and may take up to 14 business days to be completed. Please note: prospective students must be admitted to CCC to have transcripts evaluated.
Joint Service Transcripts for Military Members
Current and former military members who send official copies of their Joint Service Transcript (JST) to CCC will receive 3 Physical Education (“PE”) credits, which appear as Pass grades on their degree audit. Depending on the degree the student is enrolled in, the 3 PE credits will either fulfill a degree requirement or apply as elective credits. Please contact the Registrar’s Office by email to inquire about the possibility of earning additional transfer credit, with Pass grades, from JST experience: registrar@clatsopcc.edu.
CLEP, AP, and International Baccalaureate Transcripts
Contact the Registrar’s Office to discuss transferring CLEP, AP, or International Baccalaureate work: registrar@clatsopcc.edu.
International college and university transcripts require evaluation through The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and must be initiated and paid for by the prospective student. The evaluation must then be sent as an official document to CCC for review. Prospective students should contact the Admissions Office to discuss the possibility of their international baccalaureate work applying to programs at CCC before paying to have the evaluation completed.
