Let CCC help you in charting your course
Sometimes things happen throughout a term that force a student to change their class schedule. Whether you drop a class right at the start of a term or withdraw once the term is well underway, it’s helpful for you to be proactive about the process. Confirm via email–ideally to both your instructor and the Registrar’s Office–that you’d like to make a change to your schedule.
Read through the options below to find out more about the different types of schedule changes available to CCC students.
If you elect to drop a class from your schedule before the second Monday of the term, you can receive a full refund for the cost of the course. To be eligible for a refund, however, you must follow the steps below and actively initiate the schedule change.
If you have any difficulty dropping a class using the MyCCC steps above, don’t hesitate to reach out to CCC staff for support at registrar@clatsopcc.edu.
Note: It is always important to attend the classes you’ve registered for, but it’s especially crucial at the start of a term. If you regularly miss a class on your schedule, you might be automatically dropped from the class at the start of the second week of the term, and if so, you could be ineligible for a refund. If you have any issue that impacts your attendance at the start of a term, please reach out to your instructor and the Registrar’s Office immediately.
Leaving a class after the first week of the term has passed is considered a class withdrawal, not a class drop (described above). To withdraw from a class, stop by the First Stop in Columbia Hall, Rm. 109, or email office staff directly at registrar@clatsopcc.edu.
As long as you complete the class withdrawal by the end of the eighth week of the term, the withdrawal doesn’t impact your GPA–it shows as a “W” on the transcript. You are, however, still financially responsible for the cost of the course.
If the eight week of the term has passed and you’d like to withdraw from a class, you’ll need to ask for a deadline extension for the withdrawal process. Contact staff at the First Stop for more information on this process.
