Nichole Warwick began teaching at Clatsop CC in the fall of 2007. Her primary work is with allied health majors taking Anatomy and Physiology and/or Microbiology course work in preparation for professional programs. Her passion lies in teaching biology to non-majors; she teaches BI 102 Cell biology and BI 103 Animal Behavior. Nichole works to make her courses relevant to the times, to support students in their learning, and to be inclusive. Her organized structure and design helps students be successful.
In her personal time, Nichole has a small family and lives on her "wanna be homestead" gardening and playing with her 2 favorite appaloosa horses. She keeps a small orchard and chickens. Being outside is good for the soul and Nichole loves hiking, camping, rafting, kayaking, running, gardening, and just about anything that gives her an excuse to be outside. In the rainy season she bakes, crafts, plays board games and puzzles, or reads. Nichole also keeps a rather large Dahlia patch and has a website (www.wildhorsegardens.com) to keep notes on how different varieties grow on the north coast.
Nichole chose this as her favorite quote because the message speaks to the need to keep pushing on for bigger and better times. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”
