Background

I studied Field Ecology and Outdoor Education in the beautiful Southwest and received my bachelor degree from Prescott College. I continued with graduate studies in Fisheries Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where I received a Master of Science researching a small forage fish in Prince William Sound. After working as an EMT and paramedic in Clatsop County, I studied public health at San Jose State University, where I earned my MPH.

I was a student here at CCC and got to enjoy the commitment and skill of our wonderful instructors. It is a pleasure to work here now and to support our students in their learning!

I teach several biology courses, including BI101 (Ecology), GS112 (Chem and Cell Biology), BI143 (Marine Biology), and BI211-213 (Principles of Biology). I also teach GS106 (Geology) and 108 (Oceanography), as well as BOT101 (Botany) at times. My office hours vary every term: please see attached schedule by clicking on the schedule button or email me.

Hobbies / Interests

I am grateful that I get to share my interest in the natural world with my students. I also enjoy art, backpacking, and my funny chihuahuas. Occasionally I even get to teach yoga!
