Ales & Ideas February 3, 2022 at 7pm: Why Libraries? Why Now? A Panel Discussion (Updated)

“Google can bring you back 100,000 answers; a librarian can bring you back the right one,” wrote author, film-writer, and graphic novelist Neil Gaiman. In today’s world of abundant misinformation, well-trained librarians have never been more important.  This month’ Ales & Ideas presents a Panel Discussion:  Why Libraries?  Why Now?  with local librarians Kelly Knudsen (Warrenton Community Library), Esther Moberg (Seaside Public Library), Dan McClure (Clatsop Community College Dora Badollet Library), Jimmy Pearson (Astoria Public Library) as well as Astoria Public Library Advisory Board Chair Sue Stein, who will moderate the session. Learn about the latest developments in three area libraries, how libraries are connected, and special features of these local facilities. This First Thursday lecture will include an opportunity for Q&A from the audience. All are welcome.

Clatsop Community College is pleased to follow Fort George’s lead in returning to LIVE audiences for this year’s Thursday Night Talks. Join us in the Fort George Lovell Room at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 3rd. An audience cap of 50 will be enforced, to include physically distanced seating.  Face coverings are required, except while actively eating or drinking.  Doors open at 6pm, with food, ales, and other beverages available; no purchase necessary. Minors are welcome at this FREE event.  This event will also stream live on Facebook LIVE at 7pm. https://www.facebook.com/FortGeorgeBrewery.  No log-in/membership required.
