Invest in the future of our region by supporting Clatsop Community College in building a state-of-the-art maritime training facility for both students and industry professionals.
A highly realistic ship-bridge training environment that allows students and professionals to practice navigating and operating vessels in a safe, controlled setting. The immersive design surrounds participants with a full, panoramic view, helping them build confidence and sound decision-making skills before they ever step onto a working vessel.
A coordinated training system that allows multiple participants to work together, just as they would in real operations. This setup helps trainees learn how vessels work together during complex maneuvers, emphasizing communication, teamwork, and shared responsibility.
Training experiences are built to closely mirror real operating conditions, allowing participants to practice responding to challenging situations in a realistic but risk-free environment. This approach strengthens awareness, communication, and problem-solving skills that are critical for safety and success on the water.
Private and community support for this project helps unlock eligible state matching funds, allowing the College to significantly expand the impact of each contribution. These funds will be used to modernize an existing public training facility—upgrading technology, infrastructure, and learning spaces—so it can better serve students, employers, and the broader community for decades to come.
Contributions made through the College Foundation are tax-deductable.
