A free, six-week workforce training program that introduces participants to the fundamentals of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), followed by paid internship experience with local employers.

No. This is a non-credit workforce training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level employment in HVAC. It does not award college credit.

Individuals ages 16–24 are eligible. No prior HVAC or trade experience is required.

This training is funded through a grant that sets specific age eligibility requirements. These requirements cannot be waived.

Participants learn HVAC fundamentals, workplace safety, and professional skills, along with hands-on experience in real work environments.

Yes. Training costs, tools, and required safety gear are provided at no cost.

Yes. Participants receive completion stipends and paid internship hours with local HVAC employers.

Six weeks of training followed by approximately 80 hours of paid internship experience.

The program begins June 15, 2026.

Training is provided through Clatsop Community College, with internships located throughout Clatsop County.

Yes. HVAC offers strong career opportunities for women. The program welcomes participants of all genders and is committed to an inclusive learning environment.

Participants must attend all scheduled training sessions and internship hours. Planned vacations, sports schedules, or other commitments that interfere with attendance are not compatible with the program. Participants must be drug- and alcohol-free during training and internship placement and comply with all workplace safety and employer requirements. Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from the program and loss of eligibility for stipends, tools, and internship placement.

No. Employment is not guaranteed, but the program is designed to prepare participants for entry-level HVAC opportunities and connect them with local employers.
