Lives in Transition

The Lives In Transition (LIT) program is comprised of two, three-credit classes at NO COST for students. The class content explores various academic options and establishes successful college study skills. The course material revolves around common personal experiences that often hinder academic success, while simultaneously increasing self-awareness and self-esteem. The LIT program is grounded in trauma-sensitive learning and encourages students to further their understanding of educational goals and career directions. For more information, please review the CCC Catalog descriptions of the two courses: HD160 – Overcoming Barriers: A Holistic Approach to Student Success, and HD202 – Life Transitions. A Spanish language companion program, Transitions Costa, is offered as needed (HD96 and HD98).

The LIT Resource Room (Alder Hall, 2ndfloor) provides a warm and inviting area for students to relax, study, connect with others. Academic Advising is available, as well. For additional information, please contact the Lives in Transition program at (503) 338-2377 or by email (see below).
