Applying for Aid

CCC Title IV Federal School Code: 003189

The primary responsibility for meeting college costs rests with students and their families. Clatsop Community College recognizes that many individuals cannot assume the full financial burden of a college education. For this reason, financial aid is available to help bridge the gap between the costs of education and the available student and/or family resources. Our goal is to assist students in accessing federal and state funding sources to assist in meeting the costs of their educational goals.

The following are simple steps to start and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA.

  • Create a Federal Student Aid ID to get access to the online system.
  • Gather the necessary documents including: Social Security number, 2015 federal income tax returns, W-2 forms, records of untaxed income, bank statements and records of investments. To speed up the process, the FAFSA uses an IRS Data Retrieval Tool that allows 2015 tax information to transfer directly from the IRS. Simply click 'link to IRS' in the financial information section of the FAFSA to transfer tax information.
  • List Clatsop on the FAFSA.
  • Complete the FAFSA as close to Oct. 1 as possible as some financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Important Note:

Clatsop Financial Aid does not make any offer of assistance until all required documents have been received and processed.  Delays in responding to correspondence can affect the amount of aid a student receives, regardless of the date the student applies for financial aid.
