Duties of ASG President
The duties of the ASG President are as follows:

  • Serves as Executive Officer responsible for ASG affairs and activities
  • Serves as the student representative at College Board Meetings
  • Serves as a student representative at the College Council
  • Schedules and participates in student forums and encourages student feedback
  • Prepares ASG meeting agendas
  • Schedules and conducts ASG meetings
  • Interprets ASG policies and procedures
  • Maintains veto power over ASG decisions
  • Manages the ASG Budget
  • Develops the annual ASG budget
  • Provides weekly ASG financial reports
  • Pre-approves all requisitions and purchase orders
  • Maintains file of all requisitions and purchase orders
  • Assists with the annual ASG awards process
  • Accepts written officer resignations
  • Takes the lead in the planning, delegation and execution of ASG activities
  • Administers the oath of office at the ASG Office induction ceremony
  • Determines and delegates training as needed
  • Approves and submits officers' time sheets for reimbursement
  • Serves as a member of the interview committee for selecting the next ASG President
  • Reports to the Dean of Student Services
