Interested in a Nursing Career?

Clatsop Community College will host an information session regarding its Nursing Program on Wednesday, November 18 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm in Columbia Hall Room 219, 1651 Lexington Avenue, Astoria.

This comprehensive introduction to beginning a career in nursing will address admission requirements and procedures, the college’s new curriculum as part of the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education (OCNE) and links to BSN programs with OHSU and Linfield College. All those interested in entering the CCC Nursing Program are encouraged to attend.

CCC Winter Term Registration

Registration for Winter Term at Clatsop Community College opens this week. Students who have earned more than 44 credits may register beginning November 12. Registration is open to all students on November 13. Register online.

Art Faculty Exhibit Honors Royal Nebeker

In a very special exhibit honoring the memory of the late Royal Nebeker, the Clatsop Community College Art Center Gallery will feature a selection of Nebeker’s artwork in addition to recent work created by current art faculty who teach in the areas of both credit and community education studio art classes. 

Thinking about College? Attend College Night at CCC

Clatsop Community College will host its annual College Night on Wednesday, November 4, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Columbia Hall Room 219, 1651 Lexington Avenue, Astoria.  The event is focused on high school seniors and their parents or guardians, but anyone in the community who is interested in starting college is welcome. 

GED Means Work, Life and Educational Benefits

The GED is an educational credential that is the equivalent of a high school diploma. It is accepted by 98% of colleges and universities that require a high school diploma for entrance, as well as 96% of companies whose jobs require a high school degree.  Workers with a GED get better jobs and have higher lifetime incomes than those without a high school degree or equivalent.

Hylton Elected to Mathematical Association Leadership

Liz Hylton in office holding multi-colored cubeClatsop Community College math instructor Liz Hylton has been elected as Northwest Vice-President for the Executive Board for the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC). Hylton’s term begins on January 1, 2016 and ends on December 31, 2017.

Rain Magazine Invites Submissions for 2016 Edition

Rain Magazine, Clatsop Community College’s annual literary and arts publication, invites submissions now through January 10, 2016 for the 2016 edition. Proud of its 40-plus years publishing the art and literature of our talented coastal community, Rain welcomes submissions from the general public as well as CCC students.
