Public Reading and Reception in Cannon Beach for Rain Magazine

Come celebrate the 2017 edition of Rain Magazine, Clatsop Community’s College’s annual literary and arts publication, one last time before submissions open for the 2018 edition on October 15.

The community is invited to celebrate the magazine’s 48th edition with a free public reading and reception from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, October 14, at Tolovana Hall (3779 S. Hemlock St.) in Cannon Beach.

High Demand for GED Classes Prompts Two Additional Orientation Dates

Due to the high demand for GED classes, two additional GED orientations have been scheduled to accomodate the interest.

CCC Art Department Presents Body Politic:  Contemporary, Classical Drawings by Ghislaine Fremaux and Henk Pander

The Clatsop Community College Royal Nebeker Art Gallery will open its 2017/2018 exhibition season with a two-person show entitled Body Politic:  Contemporary, Classical Drawings by Ghislaine Fremaux and Henk Pander. Both artists were selected to exhibit in the 2017 international Au Naturel competition by juror Daniel Duford, a highly respected practicing artist and writer currently serving as Visiting Associate Professor of Art at Reed College.  Pander and Fremeaux were also chosen by the art department faculty to receive the coveted prize of an award show. 

Clatsop Community College Offers Free ‘Comprehensive Shelter Training’

September is National Preparedness Month. This year’s theme, “Disasters don’t plan ahead. You can.” encourages everyone to prepare.

Residents of Clatsop and Pacific counties are well aware that there is plenty to prepare for – from upcoming winter storms to a potential Cascadia event.  During the last two weekends of September, the American Red Cross will once again team up with Clatsop Community College to offer a free course in preparedness at the larger, community level.

Board Approves New Mission and Vision for Clatsop Community College

Clatsop Community College Board of Directors approved the college’s new mission and vision statement at the September 12, 2017 board meeting. The new mission of the college reads: “Enriching Lives, Inspiring Learning, Creating Opportunities” and is partnered with the vision of: “As a leader in education, Clatsop Community College will partner with the community in creating gateways for transformation.”
