Au Naturel Reception and Awards

The opening reception of Clatsop Community College’s seventh annual juried art exhibit, Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century, was held Thursday, March 7, in the CCC Art Center Gallery.

This year, over 600 images were submitted for consideration by artists from 26 states and Canada, Mexico, China, Morocco and the United Kingdom. The 2013 show includes 52 works by 47 artists from 16 states and Canada.

College Announces All-Oregon Academic Team Scholars

Clatsop Community College Students Jennifer Challis and Thomas Stewart have been selected as the CCC 2013 All-0regon Academic Team Scholars. Academic Team Scholars are selected annually from each community college in Oregon based on excellence in the classroom, intellectual curiosity, service to the college and community, and their ability to share their talents with others.

Spring Student Guitar Recital and Concert at the PAC

Clatsop Community College is proud to present this year’s Spring Recital and Concert to showcase the talents of students studying guitar with noted musician David Drury, Saturday, March 16, 2013, 7:00pm at the CCC Performing Arts Center (PAC), 16th and Franklin in Astoria. The concert will benefit the Support the PAC Fund at the CCC Foundation. Columbia Coffee Roaster will provide beverages.

Save the Date – CCC Library Book Sale

The Dora Badollet Library at Clatsop Community College is planning a book sale for the community. The sale will be conducted at the CCC Library, 1680 Lexington Avenue, Astoria on March 20, 21 and 22, from 8:00am to 7:00pm. Refreshments will be available. Watch for additional information.

CCC Announces the 2013 Opening of Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century

Clatsop Community College is proud to announce that the artwork selected for the seventh annual international competition Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century is on display at CCC's Art Center Gallery, 1799 Lexington Avenue, Astoria, OR.  The Au Naturel exhibit will run from February 21st through March 28th, 2013.

CCC Celebrates National TRiO Day of Service

Clatsop Community College will celebrate National TRiO Day of Community Service by participating in the North Coast Land Conservancy’s ‘Saturday Morning Stewardship’ project at Stanley Marsh/Thompson Creek in Seaside on Saturday, February 23. Volunteers will be serving the community and helping the environment by planting hundreds of willow trees to ensure that the beavers have enough material for food and dam building.  The work party begins at 9:00 AM and will run until Noon.

CCC Latino Club Helps Build Community

The Latino Club of Clatsop Community College visited with the Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific (ALCP) on Thursday, February 7. Students from the college club presented the organization with a $100 check to support the League’s various activities, such as helping kids in need with new clothing, buying backpacks and other items for foster children, and providing prom dresses to high school girls. Latino Club representatives included Jonathan Ortiz, Silviano Lopez, Rolando Martinez, and Hazel Martinez, a CCC staff member.
