CCC Presents Annual Art Student Show

The 2013 CCC Art Student Show will be on display at the CCC Art Center Gallery from Thursday, May 16th to Friday, June 7th. An opening reception for the student artists is scheduled for Thursday, May 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the Art Center Gallery (located at 1799 Lexington Ave. in Astoria, OR). During the reception, cash prizes and award winners will be announced.

Community Invited to Clatsop Community College’s MERTS Campus Open House

On May 6, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., everyone is invited to an Open House at Clatsop Community College’s MERTS Campus. This exciting one-day event sponsored by Vince Williams Warrenton Kia includes fun activities for all ages, demonstrations, vendor displays, and a free barbecue from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

CCC Ales & Ideas presents Historic Preservation: The Original Sustainable Building Technique

Clatsop Community College and the Fort George Brewery are pleased to announce the next public event in the Ales & Ideas lecture series held in the Fort George Lovell Showroom, and featuring free multimedia presentations by members of the CCC faculty and staff.  Thursday, April 25th, 2013 the series presents Historic Preservation: The Original Sustainable Building Technique with CCC Historic Preservation faculty Lucien Swerdloff (M.Arch.) and John Goodenberger (B.Arch.).

CCC Students Recognized for Information Literacy

Clatsop Community College students Rhonda Conrad, Chad Griffiths, and Joshua Young were selected as winners of the first-ever Information Literacy Prize.

What is Transgender?

Clatsop Community College, PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), and the Lower Columbia Diversity Project are honored to sponsor a series of activities designed to share information and answer questions about transgender issues.

A campus viewing of the documentary film, Southern Comfort will be shown on Tuesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 17 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The film runs approximately ninety minutes.

2013 Au Naturel Exhibit: People’s Choice Award

Voters selected Michael Reedy’s mixed media piece entitled Blash for the People's Choice Award in this year's Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century exhibit.

Throughout the duration of the exhibit, February 21st through March 28th, all visitors were invited to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award. After the close of the exhibit, all votes were tallied and Michael Reedy’s Blash received the greatest number of votes.

Winter Term Academic Honors Announced

Clatsop Community College is proud to announce the following students have been recognized for their superior academic achievement during Winter Term 2013. The Dean's List recognizes students completing 12 or more graded credits and achieving a grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 to 4.00. Honor Roll status recognizes students completing 12 or more graded credits and achieving a GPA of 3.5 to 3.74.
