Evolving Global Peace System Discussion at the PAC

Al Jubitz, peace activist and President of the Jubitz Family Foundation, will introduce the audience to the evolving global peace system by examining 28 trends that have been shifting the world away from its historical war system toward global collaboration, constructive conflict resolution, and social change.

This inspiring community discussion will take place on Friday, March 1 at 7:00pm in the Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center (PAC), 16th & Franklin. This free community event is part of the CCC Arts & Ideas series.

Ales & Ideas presents Creativity: The Mystery of the Muse with Kristin Shauck, MFA

Clatsop Community College and the Fort George Brewery are pleased to announce the next public event in the Ales & Ideas lecture series featuring free multimedia presentations by members of the CCC faculty and staff.  CCC Painting, Drawing and Design Instructor Kristin Shauck will present Creativity: The Mystery of the Muse, Thursday, February 28th, at 7:00pm in the Fort George Lovell Showroom. 

Clothesline Project Demonstration to End Domestic Violence Returns to CCC

The students of the Women & Social Action course at Clatsop Community College (CCC) have begun preparation for their annual demonstration “The Clothesline Project” and invite the participation of all community members.

Transfer Day Helps Students Take the Next Step to a Four-Year Degree

Clatsop Community College will host representatives from 17 four-year colleges and universities for the 2013 Transfer Day on Thursday, February 14 in Columbia Hall Room 219, 1651 Lexington Avenue, Astoria between 10:00am and 1:00pm. CCC students and prospective students can visit with college and university representatives to learn more about the college admissions process, academic majors, housing, and co-curricular activities available at the four-year schools.

Videos and Discussions at CCC Celebrate Black History Month

Clatsop Community College is commemorating Black History Month with a free weekly series of videos and discussions. All programs will be held in Columbia Hall Room 219, 1651 Lexington Avenue, Astoria, beginning at 12:00pm, and will last for approximately one hour.

Historic Preservation Program Offers Stair Design and Construction Workshop

Clatsop Community College offers a hands-on workshop with builder and craftsman Ed Overbay, covering the fundamentals of stair design and construction. Students gain knowledge and practical hands-on experience in materials and methods of construction for stairs. They learn techniques to design, layout and build stairs.

The workshop will take place on Saturday and Sunday, February 23 and 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Overbay Houseworks, 2095 SE 12th Place, Warrenton, OR.

CCC Holds Auditions for 2013 Vagina Monologues

Clatsop Community College is seeking women interested in performing in its 2013 presentation of The Vagina Monologues. Auditions will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 6:00pm, in the Lives in Transition Resource Room, 2nd floor, Alder Hall, 1775 Lexington Avenue, Astoria. No experience is necessary. The Vagina Monologues will be performed on March 8 and 9, 7:00pm, at the CCC Performing Arts Center.
