Feature Documentary about TimeBanking to be Screened at CCC

Clatsop Community College is proud to host This As That Productions and its partners Lower Columbia TimeBank and Portland Time Bank for a local community screening of “Time as Money”, a new feature documentary film by Lenore and Mark Eklund that celebrates the power of community that is built through the complimentary currency of timebanking.

2nd Annual Lexington Campus Clean-Up Day

Clatsop Community College, with sponsorship from its Wellness Committee, announces the 2nd Annual Lexington Campus Clean-Up Day, Saturday, June 6, from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Community members are invited to join CCC faculty, staff and students in this healthy outdoor activity that builds community-wide connections and helps beautify the main college campus. Please note that this event is weather-dependent. Check the CCC website prior to arrival for any updates.

Ales & Ideas: Sci-Fi & Social Change with Walidah Imarisha

Clatsop Community College and the Fort George Brewery announce the May program of the 2014/2015 Ales & Ideas education series, Thursday, May 28th 7pm in the Fort George Lovell Showroom.   Door opens with food and beverage service at 6pm.  Seasonal beers on tap, food and other beverages are available for purchase. Seating is limited; please arrive early to assure a place. The Fort George Lovell Showroom is located at 14th and Duane St. in Astoria.  Minors are welcome. 

CCC’s Puerta de Oportunidades Fosters Success

A grant from the State of Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development enabled Clatsop Community College to launch the Puerta de Oportunidades program in 2015 to serve low-income, first-generation or disabled students. The one-year program designed to foster student success supported intensive academic advising, career guidance, scholarship and transfer planning assistance, technology support and tutoring.

This investment in student success is already demonstrating results.

Awards Recognize College SBDC

On Tuesday May 5 the Clatsop Community College (CCC) Small Business Development Center (SBDC) received the “SBDC Excellence and Innovation Award,” presented each year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)to an outstanding SBDC for providing exceptional value to small businesses, and advancing program delivery and management through innovation.

Governor Kate Brown to Address CCC Graduates

Clatsop Community College is proud to announce that Governor Kate Brown will serve as its featured 2015 commencement speaker, Friday, June 12 at 7:00pm in the Liberty Theater, Astoria.
