Academic Leadership Solidified at Clatsop Community College

Clatsop Community College President Chris Breitmeyer announced Tuesday, May 9, 2017, that after over a year of vacancy, the Vice President of Academic Affairs position will be filled by Dr. Margaret Frimoth, current co-interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Director of Lives in Transition program at the college. Teena Toyas, the other half of the co-interim VP role and long time faculty member at CCC, was also announced to be continuing in a leadership role as Dean of Transfer Education.

Annual CCC Art Student Show Opens May 18th

Clatsop Community College is pleased to announce that the 2017 Annual Art Student Show will be featured in the Royal Nebeker Gallery, 1799 Lexington Avenue in Astoria from Thursday, May 18th through Friday, June 9th.  An opening reception honoring all CCC student artists will be held on Thursday, May 18th from 6-8 p.m.   During the reception, cash prizes and award winners will be announced and both jurors will be present at the reception to give a juror's talk.

CCC Students Recognized for Outstanding Research Papers

Each spring at Clatsop Community College, students are invited to submit their best research papers to be entered into an Information Literacy competition with scholarship prizes. Research papers are submitted to the CCC Library Director who then evaluates the papers using information literacy criteria. Award funds for this competition are raised through library coffee sales and through the generosity of Columbia River Coffee Roasters. This is the fifth year of the Library’s Information Literacy Prize.

Ales and Ideas Hosts Oregon Book Award Nominees Nick Jaina & Martha Grover

Clatsop Community College and the Fort George Brewery are pleased to announce the May Ales & Ideas community lecture.  On Thursday, May 4th, CCC joins forces with Oregon’s nonprofit Literary Arts to presenters Martha Grover and Nick Jaina, two Oregon Book Award nominees renowned for their honest, insightful, and frequently funny creative nonfiction memoirs.

Community Invited to CCC's MERTS Campus Open House May 5, 2017

On Friday, May 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the community is invited to an Open House at Clatsop Community College’s MERTS Campus. This exciting one-day event includes fun activities for all ages, demonstrations and vendor displays.

Clatsop Community College Announces “Indigenous Intrinsic Manifestations”, An Exhibition of Artwork by Linley B. Logan

Clatsop Community College is proud to announce, Indigenous Intrinsic Manifestations, an exhibition of artwork by contemporary, Onondowaga (Seneca) artist, Linley B. Logan at the Royal Nebeker Gallery, with an opening reception on Thursday, April 13, from 6pm-8pm. The reception is free and everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be available.
