PRESS RELEASE: Long-Term Care Certified Volunteer Ombudsman Program Informational Meeting At CCC’s South County Campus
FOR RELEASE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 23
The Oregon State Office of The Long-Term Care Ombudsman is offering a two-hour introductory session on the Long-Term Care Certified Volunteer Ombudsman Program. Certified ombudsman volunteers work as advocates for residents who live in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living and adult foster homes. Volunteers investigate resident complaints, advocate for the best possible quality of care and work to support residents’ rights.
If you have a passion to support older folks living in our coastal communities, and are ready for an adventure filled with challenges, humor and joy, this program needs you!
The session will take place in Seaside on Friday, October 2nd, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Clatsop Community College’s South County Campus in Room 1 (located at 1455 North Roosevelt Drive). Please contact Deputy State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Laura Lenhardt at 1-800-522-2602 for more information.
A follow-up certification training will be scheduled on the North Coast following the introductory session during late October or early November depending on the schedules of prospective volunteers.
The CCC South County Campus is ADA accessible. Clatsop Community College is an affirmative action, equal opportunity institution.
