Breathe Free At CCC: Smoking Cessation Clinics

The Clatsop Community College Student Health and Wellness Program and Columbia Memorial Hospital have joined together to sponsor Breathe Free At CCC: Smoking Cessation Clinics. The clinic is an opportunity for students, staff, faculty, and community members to learn about the immediate, tremendous health benefits of becoming a non-smoker. Attendees will have the opportunity to develop a plan for overcoming nicotine dependency and stopping the smoking habit.

“Research has shown that nearly 70% of people who currently smoke tobacco report that they would like to become non-smokers,” says Jim Holen, Counselor and Student Health and Wellness Coordinator at Clatsop Community College. “Attending a smoking cessation clinic offered by Columbia Memorial helps provide a state of the art strategy to achieve a very worthwhile, yet difficult to meet personal goal. This also helps to ensure a smoke free environment in which to learn, work, and visit on our campus.”

Breathe Free At CCC Clinics will be held on Thursday, February 12th, and Monday, February 23, 2009 at Clatsop Community College in the Student Services Center Conference Room. There are two sessions each day that people can choose to attend: a session from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and a second session from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Student Services Center Conference Room is ADA accessible. Limited parking is available on campus, with on street parking available within a few blocks.

This event is free and all are encouraged to attend. You can download a .pdf file of the poster here (228 kb).
