Karson Nasstrom- Nursing Instructor
Nursing possesses so many different areas of interest for me. It is both an art and a science. As a nurse I have been able to incorporate my love for science and l learning alongside my love for people and caring.
What inspires me to teach is the opportunity to share my love for the field of nursing and educating with students. The most rewarding aspect of being an educator is the students’ journey. The journey from arriving the first day as a novice nursing student to graduating as an expert student nurses. I feel so lucky to be a part of that journey and facilitate their learning.
I have the wonderful fortune to working with a group of incredible colleagues. They have supported and encouraged my own journey of becoming a nurse educator. We work together to make this an excellent learning environment. It makes this job an absolute pleasure.
I would like students to take away from my class that we are a team. I am as invested in their future as they are. My goal is that we work together to achieve their goal of developing into a safe, knowledgeable and compassionate nurse.
Karson graduated in 2000 with her bachelors in nursing from Humboldt State University.
