Absolutely. The public is welcome to come into the library, browse our collection, relax, and/or use our public computers. To check out materials from the library, non-students can become patrons. Community members from inside the Astoria city limits can take advantage of the Oregon Passport Program, meaning they can become library patrons for free. Ask a library staff member about this program.
Patrons from elsewhere can also become library patrons. A patron membership costs $5 for three months or $20 per year. The library reserves the right to require photographic identification such as a Washington or Oregon Driver's license or ID card that shows a local residence.
