DESCRIPTION:Join Clatsop Community College and Fort George Brewing for Ales & Ideas. This month we will hear from Laurie Kautz\, a CCC and EOU alumn presenting Mind over Data- The Pen is Mightier Than the Droid. \n\n\n\nWhat is the cost of Generative AI in the writing world? Are writer’s works being violated by data scraping\, then pushed aside as AI slop invades the literary world?  \n\n\n\nJoin us for a conversation exploring the changing landscape of the industry fraught with uncertainty. We will pose questions of plagiarism and theft of intellectual property\, human versus machine. \n\n\n\nLaurie is an MFA candidate in Eastern Oregon University’s Landscape\, Ecology and Community focused program. Her past work has been featured in Rain Magazine. Future offerings are forthcoming in Line of Advance and Garden of Neuro Publishing. Her memoir\, Two Parts of a Whole\, is expected to be published in early 2027.  \n\n\n\nDoors open to the Lovell Showroom at 6 p.m.  Food and beverage services is available but not required. The lecture will start promptly at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
