Oregon’s Black Exclusion Laws Presentation with Zachary Stocks of Oregon Black Pioneers (see attached for a shareable event poster)

Towler 201 & Zoom (https://clatsopcc.zoom.us/j/84695730406)

Many know that Oregon is one of the whitest states in America, but fewer people are aware that this is by design. Zachary Stocks, public historian and the Executive Director of Oregon Black Pioneers, will reveal how the provisional, territorial, and state governments of Oregon created legal and social barriers to exclude Blacks from society, how Oregonians reinforced white supremacy with violence and intimidation, and how that history has been misunderstood over the subsequent decades.

Registration is required to attend in-person due to limited capacity. Food will be provided at the end of the presentation for attendees. Masks are required at all times during the presentation.
