Ales and Ideas- Why Libraries, Why Now?
November 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Join Clatsop Community College and Fort George Brewery for this month’s Ales & Ideas Lecture on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 at 7p.m. featuring a panel discussion addressing “Why Libraries, Why Now?”
Albert Einstein famously quipped, “The only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.” In today’s information-scape dominated by social media, fake news, and misinformation, our libraries have never been more important. This month’s Ales & Ideas panel discussion will feature local librarians Suzanne Myers Harold (Astoria Public Library), Libby Lawrence (Astoria Middle School Library), Dan McClure (Clatsop Community College Dora Badollet Library), Heather Martin (Providence Health System) as well as Astoria Public Library Advisory Board Chair Dr. Sue Stein, who will moderate the session. Learn about the latest developments in four area libraries, how libraries are connected, and special features of these local facilities. This First Thursday lecture will include an opportunity for Q&A from the audience. All are welcome.
Fort George lectures have returned to in-person events. Doors open at 6 p.m., with food, ales, and other beverages available; no purchase necessary. Minors are welcome at this FREE event.
