Associate of Applied Science Degree program -6 terms (2 years)

Criminal Justice careers are some of the most honorable occupations that protect and serve your community. An increasing number of police departments require at least some college education for employment or promotion. The Associate of Applied Science Criminal Justice degree offers you the skills and knowledge to protect the public and offer quality service to your community.

Criminal Justice students will learn to:

  • Communicate effectively in the criminal justice culture
  • Work independently and as a team to effectively complete case assignments
  •  Locate and interpret case law and statues pertaining to specific criminal activity
  •  Recognize mental health and substance abuse issues and take appropriate action


Students gain on-the-job experience through cooperative work experience. Partnerships with local law enforcement agencies allow students access to real world environments where they apply their knowledge to everyday situations.

  • Graduates of the criminal justice associate degree program commonly apply for positions such as:
  • Police Officer
  • Law Enforcement Services
  • Private Security
  • Homeland Security
  • Bailiff
  • Corrections Officer


Or after earning an Associate degree, students may transfer to a baccalaureate program to be eligible for professions such as:

  • Air Marshal
  • Border Patrol Agent
  • Immigration and Customs Enforcement
  • Digital Forensics Specialist
  • FBI Agent
  • US Marshal
