Clatsop Community College is pleased to announce the release of the 2012 Edition of RAIN Magazine. The college will host a Public Reading & Reception on Thursday, May 24, at 6:00 p.m. in the CCC Art Center Gallery, 1799 Lexington Avenue, Astoria. Many of this year’s contributors will read excerpts from their published work, and original art work from this year’s magazine will also be on display. Come celebrate our talented Columbia Pacific community! Refreshments will be served, and complimentary copies of this limited edition Clatsop Community College publication will be available.
This year’s RAIN Magazine includes new writing from Robert Michael Pyle, Terry Shumaker, Tricia Gates Brown, Robert Brake, Jan Bono, Adam Berk, Nancy Berry, Kathy Bowman, Gail Balden, Michelle Chamberlin, Jim Dott, Sue Falkner Wood, Vera Wildauer, Amber Clyde, Kimberly Hazel, Sunny Hazel, John Joseph, Sanders Howse, Dave Densmore, Brenda Malmstrom, David Campiche, John Ciminello, Cayla VanGundy, Tricia Knoll, Vincent Reynolds, Patty Hardin, Jon Schmidt, Laura Tattoo, Jan Priddy and more. Artwork by Kristin Shauck, David Lee Myers, Mike Duncan, Sofie Kline, Charles Hillestad, Jamie Boyd, Lyubov Goryanova, Calandra Frederick, Normandie Hand, Erika McKay, Gary Trenner, Ron Walker, Mark Holmes, Laurie Anderson, and many more is also included. This year’s cover art features an acrylic painting by Charles Schweigert along with an oil painting entitled “Joanna”by Lulu Quinn.
