The Count Valters and the Zombie Band will provide entertainment prior to the North Coast Symphonic Band concert starting at 1:30 P.M. Longtime area music teacher Bob Walters and his three sons, Lucas, Evan and Burton, make up the band which has performed off and on since the mid-1980s. Walters has written original songs for the group and arranged other traditional ones. The sons are adults now but still enjoy reuniting with their father to play rock and roll once a year, especially since Bob Walters’ birthday falls on Halloween.
Theatrics and fun will be part of the North Coast Symphonic Band concert afternoon and audience members may wear costumes if they wish. Tickets for the afternoon cost $10 for regular admission and $8 for students with ID. Children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. Advance tickets are available at Thiel’s Music in downtown Astoria and the box office will open at 1 P.M. on the day of the concert. The auditorium doors will open at 1:15.
