Ales & Ideas: Dr. Julie Brown presents Autism in Wonderland Thursday, Sept. 27th 7pm at Fort George Brewery, FREE!

Clatsop Community College and the Fort George Brewery are pleased to announce Ales & Ideas, a new lecture series featuring multimedia presentations by members of the CCC faculty and staff.  Free events will take place at the Fort George Showroom in the Lovell Building on the fourth Thursday of each month, excepting  college breaks.  Doors open at 6:00 pm, with lectures beginning at 7:00pm.  Seasonal beers on tap, food and other beverages available for purchase.  Minors are welcome with an accompanying adult.  Dr. Julie Brown, CCC English faculty and author of Writers on the Spectrum (Kingsley Inc. 2010), will kick off the series on Thursday September 27th with Autism in Wonderland: How Asperger's Syndrome Influenced Lewis Carroll's Writing. Why does ALice in Wonderland have such an unusual, original writing style?  Why are character such as the Cheshire cat, Humpty Dumpty and the caterpillar so quirky and loveable.  Lewis Carroll exhibited signs of autism spectrum disorder.  Come learn how this helps us understand his writings.   All are welcome.  Please join for an engagiing evening in a cozy community setting.
