Geography is a social science that is concerned with how people interact with their environment. Humans both shape and are shaped by the environments they inhabit. Geographers look at such factors as landforms, the distribution of resources, and ecology when interpreting human social behavior. When geographers look at human impacts on environments, they look at technology, population demographics, resource needs, and social values.
