Clatsop Community College offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) instruction for students who wish to improve their basic reading, writing, and math skills. Students attend these classes for a variety of reasons, from increasing their workplace skills to fulfilling a desire to raise their personal educational level.
Who is eligible for ABE classes?
You must be at least 16 years old to attend ABE classes. If you are under 18 years of age, you must provide proper paperwork from your high school before attending classes.
If I have a high school diploma, can I still attend ABE classes?
Yes. If you need to refresh your basic reading, writing, and math skills, ABE classes may be right for you.
What is the cost for ABE classes?
ABE classes are free!
Are ABE classes considered college prep classes?
No. ABE classes are non-credit. Clatsop Community College offers credit classes to improve your reading, writing, and math skills for college level courses.
Where and when are ABE classes offered?
Clatsop Community College’s ABE classes are held at the main campus in Astoria, at the South County Center in Seaside, and at the high school in Clatskanie.
