Welcome to the Spanish program at Clatsop Community College!

The Spanish program at Clatsop Community College objective is to facilitate students in the process of language proficiency and cultural understanding of the Spanish speaking countries. Thus, motivating students to continue with advanced Spanish language studies at universities and abroad.

SPAN 102 First Year Spanish Winter
SPAN 103 First Year Spanish Spring

SPAN 111 Conversational Spanish Fall
SPAN 112 Conversational Spanish Winter
SPAN 113 Conversational Spanish Spring

SPAN 201 Second Year Spanish Fall
SPAN 202 Second Year Spanish Winter
SPAN 203 Second Year Spanish Spring

Academic Options:
First Year Spanish
series will provide the foundation to continue the study of Spanish. These courses fulfill the foreign language requirement for admission to an Oregon University System institution. They can also be taken as electives for some programs.

Conversational Spanish provides an environment to practice communication skills in the language. These courses can be taken as electives for some programs, please check with your advisor.

Second Year Spanish fulfills the Arts and Letters requirement for the Oregon Transfer Module and prepares students for advanced language learning.

Career Options:
Knowing a second language gives you an advantage in the workforce. Spanish is not only the second language spoken in the United States but the percentage of speakers continues to grow.
