History is much more than the study of past people. An Associate of Arts, Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree focused on history may include classes on literature, communication, foreign languages, economics and philosophy, all of which are part of the study of history. As one of the foundational liberal arts, a bachelors degree in history has many applications including government service, teaching, business and law. At Clatsop, you have the opportunity to learn the broad themes of history in small classrooms rather than sprawling lecture halls, and develop your ideas through conversations with instructors and your peers.
Each four-year institution has different requirements, and some schools may have different strengths in their history program. Your advisor can help you research transfer schools and develop an educational plan.
