The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is now accepting applications for community college students and/or recent graduates who plan to attend a four year university in Fall 2014. Eligibility is limited to Clatsop Community College students with sophomore standing and who are graduating by Summer of 2014 or who have graduated since Spring of 2009. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and plan to attend a four year college in Fall 2014.
While the Foundation considers academic excellence first in evaluating candidates, competitive applicants must also demonstrate unmet financial need. Recent scholarships have provided up to $30,000 per year to community college students and recent alumni to help them earn a four-year degree. Students are no longer required to be nominated by the faculty representative in order to compete for this scholarship; however, they should plan ahead to request an online recommendation from a faculty member of their choice.
All application materials are due by November 7, 2013. For more information and online application, please visit the Jack Kent Cook Foundation.
Questions may also be addressed to the CCC faculty representative Nancy Cook, 503-338-2335.
