Clatsop Community College (CCC) maintains a list of external scholarship sources and databases as a resource for students.
The information is compiled form various sources, and new scholarships have been added to the list (see the entire list here). Check back often throughout the year, as scholarships and deadlines change annually.
One of the benefits of external scholarships is that they can be applied toward any college in the U.S. and are not limited to CCC. This may be particularly useful for transfer students. Applications and questions about scholarships listed on the External Scholarship List must be directed to the contact person listed for each particular scholarship.
Of particular interest, the Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC) announced the opening of its scholarship application season for fall of 2011. Searching and applying for OSAC scholarships is easy by using one eApp application, which is available at www.GetCollegeFunds.org Please note: The early bird review deadline is February 15, 2011 and the final due date is March 1, 2011.
The eApp Workbook (used to complete the eApp application) is also available at all Oregon high schools, college financial aid offices, public libraries, and employment offices, or by requesting a paper application by calling OSAC at 1-800-452-8807. The eApp application allows students to apply and transmit up to twenty scholarships electronically, transmit transcripts electronically, and upload other required documents. Scholarships are available for 2011 graduating high school seniors, college and transfer students, older adults, single parents, and students with specific needs.
To be eligible for need-based scholarships students must have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by the time the scholarships are due to donor organizations. You may complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov or you may call 1-800-4FEDAID to obtain a paper copy.
Also note that the scholarships listed on the External Scholarship List are not the annual internal scholarships that are available to CCC students. The Internal Scholarship Period opens in April.
Clatsop Community College is an affirmative action, equal opportunity institution.
