RAIN Magazine 2018 Reading and Reception

Clatsop Community College invites the community to celebrate the release of the 2018 edition of RAIN Magazine at a free public reading and reception, Friday, June 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Towler Hall Commons (3rd floor) on CCC’s main campus. This will be the magazine’s 49th Edition.

Towler Hall is at 1651 Lexington Avenue in Astoria, Oregon. Let’s gather at 5:00 p.m. for an author meet-and-greet and reading signup before the program begins at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by our generous community partners Buoy Beer, Alimento Astoria, Astoria Co-op and Blue Scorcher Bakery & Café.

Many contributors will be on hand to read excerpts from their works, and original artwork from the magazine will be on display. Copies of this limited edition Clatsop Community College publication will be available to the public for a suggested donation of $10.

This year’s RAIN Magazine includes new writing from Robert Michael Pyle, Karin Temple, Wayne Downing, Florence Sage, Jim Dott, John Ciminello, Terry Shumaker, Alyssa Graybeal, and many more. Artwork by Sally Lackoff, Kim Rose-Adams, Lisa Ackerman, June Piety, Aria Watson and many others will be included, much of it in glorious color. This year’s front and back covers feature paintings by Northwest artists Mark Larson and Hickory Mertsching respectively.
