Spanish Healthcare Interpreter training classes will begin mid February at Clatsop Community College (CCC).
If you are a bilingual Spanish-English speaking individual and wish to become a healthcare interpreter, this program is for you.
Classes begin mid February at CCC’s Jerome Ave. Campus in Astoria and will meet weekends (Friday evening and all day Saturday) every 3rd weekend for 5 weekends.
Sponsored by Columbia Memorial Hospital, Clatsop Community College, and the Oregon Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) program at OHSU, the Spanish Health Care Interpreter Training Program was developed to bring training to local communities across Oregon and to improve access to quality health care interpreting services. The program also provides entry-level training in health care interpreting that meets Oregon’s Health Care Interpreter law standards for training and education.
To help alleviate costs for the students, Columbia Memorial Hospital has generously provided the funds to secure textbooks for the students involved in this program (a savings of $350 for each student).
