Clatsop Community College wishes Dr. Lindi Overton—current CCC Vice President of College Services—the best as she prepares to embark on a new professional journey.
Dr. Overton has accepted the position of Vice President for Finance and Administration at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and will begin her work there in early March.
Stephens College is a women’s liberal arts college serving the changing needs of students since 1883. At Stephens, Dr. Overton will be responsible for the administration of institutional resources and the day-to-day management of all financial and business services. She will also provide administrative leadership in the areas of Facilities Management, Human Resources, Auxiliary Services, and Dining Services.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Stephens College community. My first experience in an all female learning environment occurred on the Stephens College campus following my junior year in high school when I attended Missouri Girls’ State. This event was my first introduction to the ability of women to influence and build the future, and it had a tremendous impact on what I have chosen to do with my life,” says Dr. Overton. “During my years at Clatsop I have developed a tremendous respect for the work of community colleges. The daily dedication and energy of the faculty and staff who make a difference in people’s lives has been inspiring to me. Clatsop County is fortunate to have this valuable resource. I’ll carry a rich experience and fond memories of CCC to Stephens College.”
Dr. Overton has been at Clatsop Community College since 1998 and in that time she has been responsible for budget and finance, physical plant, technology, human resources, and auxiliary services, as well as having served as Interim-President.
“For over a decade, Dr. Overton has provided exemplary leadership, competence, and professionalism in her service to our college and community,” says CCC President Larry Galizio. “I know that I speak for everyone at CCC in being delighted for Lindi as she returns home to Missouri to begin a new journey. At the same time, we will sorely miss her dependable expertise, deeply felt concern for the well-being of Clatsop CC, our colleagues and students, and perhaps most of all, for her authenticity and humanity.”
The College anticipates initiating recruitment for a permanent replacement this summer. For more information, please contact The Office of The President at 503-338-2425.
