A Saturday, June 13, 11:00 AM (note: updated time, 3/25/15) groundbreaking celebration for the redevelopment of Clatsop Community College’s Patriot Hall will launch this exciting 18-month project – SAVE THE DATE. The project will increase safety and efficiency; result in new classroom, studio, exercise/physical education and meeting spaces; and support the creation of new paramedic, mental health and drug and alcohol counseling worker training.
The approximately $16-million project is funded through local general obligation bonds overwhelmingly approved by Clatsop County voters in the November 2014 election and a matching commitment from the State of Oregon. Key project partners include architect SRG Partnership, Inc. and construction manager/general contractor P&C Construction. The project will be completed in fall 2016 and Patriot Hall will re-open for Fall Term classes and activities.
Planning is underway for a public celebration that not only initiates the demolition and construction phase, but also honors the prior service of Patriot Hall and its dedication to the soldiers of all wars. The redeveloped Patriot Hall will constitute a new centerpiece of the CCC campus and continue the college’s dedication to Veterans in this community. Details of this free community celebration will be announced soon. Follow this link to watch the progress of the Patriot Hall Redevelopment Project.
“It’s exciting to begin the next phase of the campus master plan and to see Patriot Hall receive the attention it deserves as a monument of enduring significance in our community. Clatsop Community College is proud to demonstrate its respect for our Veterans through this significant building project,” says CCC Board Chair Rosemary Baker-Monaghan.
