Clatsop Community College will honor 2012/2013 GED recipients at a ceremony on June 6 at 11am in Columbia Hall Room 219, 1651 Lexington Avenue, Astoria.
The ceremony recognizes recipients of the GED credential through the Clatsop Community College preparation classes and the College GED Testing Center. CCC instructor Holly Tumbarello is the featured speaker. Amber Kinnunen Garcia will speak representing the GED credential recipients. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in Columbia Hall Room 114 where light refreshments will be served. Families, friends and the public are invited.
During the past year to date, 59 students have successfully completed the GED tests at CCC.
The GED (General Education Development) is currently a series of five tests (writing, reading, social studies, science and math) which upon passage provides a high school equivalency credential. In 2014, the GED tests and testing process will change significantly. Those currently in the testing process are encouraged to complete their tests by the December 6, 2013 deadline.
