Clatsop Community College has appointed Dr. William Becker as interim replacement for Dr. Lindi Overton, Vice President of College Services.
Dr. Becker’s career in higher education administration spans over forty years. He has served in leadership roles in both small and large colleges, a university system, community and technical colleges and university campuses. His institutional affiliations have included:
Staff Director - Mott Inter-University Program (University of Michigan-Flint)
Budget Analyst, President’s Office (University of California)
Coordinator of Academic Planning (University of California, Santa Cruz)
Vice President for Budget and Planning and University Lobbyist (Ferris State University)
Vice President for Administrative Services (Grays Harbor College, Bellingham Technical College, Portland Community College, and Mt. Hood Community College)
Vice President for Business Affairs (Lake Superior State University)
Executive Vice President and Interim president (Mt Hood Community College)
Dr. Becker’s formal education includes an A.B. from the University of Michigan-Flint; an M.S. from Central Michigan University and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Currently, he teaches in the Community College Leadership doctoral program at Oregon State University. He lives on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.
Dr. Becker will begin March 7. The recruitment process for a permanent Vice President of College Services will begin soon with the goal of having a permanent replacement by July 1.
